The General Assembly will allow businesses to extend health care benefits beyond workers and spouses, to basically anyone–including parents, siblings, and domestic partners. Another small step from the realm of being the “last state in the nation” to see progress.

Delegate Jim Dillard has unsurprisingly announced his retirement. One of the longest-serving delegates, he was a persistent moderate voice in an increasingly extremist legislature, and I wish him well.
