Alright, it’s carnival time.
First off we have Vienna’s Sophistpundit making a foray into this year’s elections, giving a quick rundown, emailing candidates in hope of response. Sadly, it seems Mr. Gurri isn’t having too much luck.
Next comes freshly minted blogger Leslie Crews at Closing Pandora’s Box, who makes a foray into the world of race relations. Give Closing Pandora’s Box a friendly wave into the Virginia blogosphere. Worry not, there’s no hazing/initiation ceremonies.
Old Zach at Sic Semper Tyrannis muses on the wonders of autumn. While I associate fall with the start of school, and a shudder, Old Zach brings us some warm and fuzzy moments.
Charlottesville’s Duane Gran reveals his inner bookworm with a review of Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting By in America, an account of how the working poor barely scrape by in the shadows of America.
Moving into the southwest corners of our commonwealth, fellow high schooler Neal at Neal 2028 discusses the infamous Banging Potts ad. I still can’t shake the image of the man and the grill out of my head.
Sparks fly in Wise with Spark it Up!!! following the coal money. Speaking of coal, Brian Patton looks at Dickenson County, taxes, and the Virginia Coalfield Economic Development Authority.
Flying out of Bland County is From On High gives us a slightly cautionary tale about peeing on (or in) ridiculously small airplanes. Not something you see on the blogs every day, that’s for sure. As if airplane urination wasn’t enough, As the Law Books Close discusses Alaska and gargantuan hairy spiders.
Stuart Forest Products? It appears I’m Not Emeril is on it.
Quibbles-n-Bits presents our literary fix, giving us the final installment of Great Dismal. Movies, too, are covered in the Virginia blogosphere this week with Commonwealth Conservative’s longing desire to see House of Flying Daggers, along with the rest of his Netflix to-do list.
Not Larry Sabato peeks into the world of campaign tactics, telling of transportation races and candidates on scooters. This may be a blog carnival, but Virginia politics is always a carnival.
And with that, the carnival packs up and trucks off to Not Larry Sabato for next week’s edition. Stay tuned!
[UPDATE: Last minute submission from Caroline County Justice points us to con artists at carnivals. This blog carnival is harmless.]
[UPDATE II Shameless Plug for Readership: A big friendly hello to Instapundit readers and everyone else on here for the first time because of the Carnival. Do stick around and subscribe to me on Bloglines or come back to the front page.]
Bookmark me and read often, carnival readers!

Hey, thanks a lot!
E-mails from the campaigns are actually finally starting to come in. About half of the candidates I e-mailed have replied in some form or another, they’re just taking their sweet time.
Thanks again for hosting!
Good Job Kenton. Thank You!
