Alas, watching the General Assembly makes me wish I was making this all up, but no. It appears that this session’s social crusader will be Delegate Scott Lingamfelter (R), who has introduced a pair of thoroughly backward and stridently myopic bills dealing with the General Assembly’s favorite topic–sex.
Tracking Virginia politics, I think I’ve written about [...]
The General Assembly is to deal with some slippery little things (I don’t mean the Republicans) this session.
There’s a bill afloat to…wait for it…name the Shenandoah Mountain Salamander the State Salamander.
Perhaps the debate this time will be as contentious as last session’s furor over Virginia’s state bat, which exposed Dave Albo’s dislike of bats, and [...]
KISSIMMEE, FLORIDA-Jesus Christ. The first thing I see after getting out of the car in the Sea World parking lot is an ALBO FOR DELEGATE STICKER. [I'm having fun, worry not.]
It’s amazing what one can do with an animal, some fish, and a little (or a lot) of love. Perhaps our education system can take [...]
I leave for Florida in a couple hours. Will return about the 29th or 30th or somewhen.
Before I finish with the 750 Volts Virginia Politics Dim Wattage Awards 2005, I’d like to give some awards to myself and to my blog.

Our winner for Dim-Wattage Legislation has got to be, hands down, the infamous Droopy Drawers bill from Democrat (alas) Algie Howell. If you recall, that bill would have slapped a $50 fine upon those who were caught with pants exposing underwear. The bill [...]
Earlier this month I mused that the Minutemen’s approach to stopping illegal immigration was akin to placing a stop sign at the border of Herndon and hoping the illegals listen.
It appears that this approach has been transplanted into Harry Purkey’s HB 107, which would mandate a “Drug Free Zone” sign be posted at every school, [...]
The second installment in the Year in Review series.
This year presents us a special award for someone who got themselves, shall we say, spanked so badly, it deserves a trophy. This year’s HAHA OWNED award goes to…
Dick Black. One of the most, if not the most conservative extremists ever to hit the General Assembly, Dick [...]
