Del. Morgan Griffith’s (R-Salem) HB2422 reported out of the House General Laws committee on a 16-6 vote today. HB2422 would ban smoking in restaurants, except when a restaurant puts up a sign that says “Smoking Permitted”.

What a grouch! Senator Ken Cuccinelli (R-Centreville) has proposed a budget amendment that would eliminate state funding for public radio and television–$3.6 million worth. For someone seemingly so concerned about “family values”, it should be counterintuitive to eliminate one of the few sources of children’s programming parents can stomach.
