The second poll out this week shows another lead for Tim Kaine as this election heads into the homestretch. The Scoreboard:
Tim Kaine 41
Jerry Kilgore 40
Russ Potts 6
Undecided 10
When asked whether they were interested in this race, 50% responded “a lot” (47% of Independents, 49% of Republicans and 60% of Democrats). Perhaps this is only a [...]

Melodramatic headline out of the way (Kaine Soars Like Pheonix, would, of course, imply that he was dead earlier), a new poll has been released by SurveyUSA. Do you know what that means? Microsoft Excel Time!
First I have dug up all the polls and smashed them together. Kaine has taken a lead in the latest [...]

Good lord.
Russ Potts’ new ad consists of…people banging pots (and grill lids) and screaming “WE WANT POTTS”. With this blog post, I am an inadvertent player in the Potts strategy–the more this ad gets talked about, the more pots get banged, the more Potts gets mentioned (or banged, depends on how the reviews went.). With [...]

This year’s race remains immensely tight, with Tim Kaine retaining a one-point lead over Jerry Kilgore since Mason-Dixon released its last poll at the end of July. Since then, supporters of Potts and Undecideds have moved toward Kaine and Kilgore, turning a 38-37-9 lead for Kaine in July into…

While I will be marooned at West Springfield High School, there will be the one and only, long-awaited debate between Tim Kaine and Jerry Kilgore, moderated by NBC’s Tim Russert, of Meet the Press [Note: Yes, sir, that is the Meet the Press theme. That link is proof you can find anything--anything--on the internet. Pull [...]

The most important issue in this election is not, contrary to what Dick Black or Bob Marshall would say, “moral values”. The top issue is education, the third is transportaiton-and with Jerry Kilgore’s plan to force transportation and education to come out of the same fund, both will lose out. The economy also ranks high-keep [...]

Key: Kaine leads with a wide margin among independents: coupled with Potts, our downticket candidates (Byrne, Bolling) will be able to pull off some of Potts’ support.
News Advance
More intriguing: Virginia agrees with Kaine on two very touchy issues:
Don’t forget: The people want to hear our candidates debate, not duck out to West Virginia, exclude the [...]

Psst…hey you. There’s a debate this Saturday, with Tim Kaine and Jerry Kilgore. What, you didn’t know?
It’s not going to be on TV. This Saturday, 10:30 AM, in Greenbrier…WEST VIRGINIA. Now, I don’t have anything against West Virginia, but I have fallen under the impression that our candidates, should, ya know, debate in front of [...]

Tim Kaine and Russ Potts wrote a DC Examiner op-ed on Generation Engage, an organization which tries to get young people involved in politics. Jerry Kilgore didn’t seem to think this was important [oh, those young folk, they be tax-and-spend liberals!], because he flat-out refused to sign the op-ed.

A Conversation with Russell Potts-WSLS
[Jerry Kilgore]’s a horrible leader. He would be probably the worst governor in the history of Virginia. -Russ Potts
