The Seattle Times profiles the prolific State Sen. Mark Jacobsen, who has filed 99 bills in 2 months.
Republican Minority Leader Mike Hewitt, R-Walla Walla, says the Legislature has more important things to do. If Jacobsen were a Republican, he’d tell him to cut it out.
“I would tell him not to have these kinds of numbers” [...]

Delegate Bob Marshall has prefiled his bills for the 2007 session, and they are HILARIOUS, as usual.
Turkey Baster Bob is going to fight Virginia’s biggest problem: adultery, with HB 1661. Virginia’s adultery law hasn’t been updated in 46 years, so Turkey Baster Bob has decided to add “cunnilingus, fellatio, anilingus, and anal intercourse” to to [...]

I finally found the time to listen to the debate between Delegate Bob Marshall and Evan Wolfson (of Freedom to Marry) on the Marshall-Newman amendment, graciously uploaded by the Charlottesville Podcasting Network. I was absolutely floored by some new Bob Marshall gems. Such as…well, I’ll just provide you a table.
WHAT BOB MARSHALL SAID
WHAT IT MEANT
I [...]

E-Day. This Tuesday.
Ready, are we?
Vote.
The Democrats stand a good chance of a pickup in a few of Northern Virginia’s districts:
13th District
Incumbent: Bob Marshall (R)
Democrat: Bruce Roemmelt
32nd District
Incumbent: Dick Black (R)
Democrat: David Poisson (D)
Dick Black and Bob Marshall have to be twins of some sort. I will tackle them together.
This is the starkest contrast in the [...]

In lieu of hacking something out while I should be focusing on the impending due date of my English project, I share with you a good comment left on an old post that would normally have fallen by the wayside:
I was also at that debate between Marshall and Roemmelt, trying to see what my voting [...]
Friday, September 23rd, 2005 – 04:26:07 PM
Thursday night at the Manassas Holiday Inn, the Prince William Committee of 100 sponsored a debate for the 13th and 50th House of Delegates districts.
The debate began with 50th District incumbent Del. Harry Parrish and Democratic challenger Donald Shuemaker. In Parrish’s opening statement, he said that “Republicans are the party of new ideas and accomplishment.” [...]

13th District candidates Delegate Bob Marshall (homophobe, extremist, medieval) and Dr. Bruce Roemmelt, Ed.D. (firefighter, educator, veteran) will be debating at the Manassas Holiday Inn:
6:30 - open social mixer
7:00 - dinner ($20 - rsvp to: pratt1@comcast.net)
8:00 - 50th district candidates
8:45 - 13th District candidates
While I won’t be able to make the dinner, you can see [...]

13th District Democratic candidate Bruce Roemmelt (the firefighter, educator, and veteran) is now Dr. Bruce Roemmelt, after earning his doctorate degree with his dissertation entitled:
The Influence of an Effective Model of Performance Delivered via Distance Learning on Emotional Intelligence Levels of Students in an Undergraduate Leadership Course
Anyway, Bruce is one smart guy, in addition to [...]

I’ll look over a couple of districts from the July 15 fundraising reports:
13th District: Sideshow Bob Marshall didn’t get a single person to contribute to him this quarter, just 4 PAC’s totaling $1,500. First came the bankers on June 3, then came the coal PAC on June 10, then came the tobacco PAC on June [...]

Bob Marshall makes another scary appearance in the press (I do note that whenever he opens his mouth something medieval, backwards, or just plain crazy comes out) in the Washington Times today. Now, we Democrats don’t usually keep tabs with the Moonie Times, but this is extremely alarming:
Virginia Delegate tests waters on abortion ban
A conservative [...]
